Who is PlaceMeant?

Tyler Marrero Biography

PlaceMeant LLC founder Tyler Marrero is a proud Massachusetts native turned Greenville resident via Cornell University and a few early career stops across the country before landing in South Carolina. While at Cornell, Tyler first became acquainted with the Upstate while spending 8 months in a credit internship working for GE Energy’s plant HR department in Greenville. Upon graduating in 2013 with a BS in Industrial and Labor Relations, Tyler joined Air Products and Chemicals, a Fortune 300 producer of industrial gases, as part of their HR Career Development Program based in Allentown, PA. After completing roles in Air Products’ Central Staffing and Compensation & Benefits Centers of Excellence, he joined the HR Operations’ team first based in Allentown before eventually moving out to Phoenix, AZ to serve as an HR Manager for Air Products’ new West Industrial Gases Region. In 2016, Tyler decided to move back to the Upstate for personal reasons and career opportunity, where he led the HR function for Benteler Automotive’s Spartanburg plant, locally a BMW chassis supplier.

However, Tyler decided in May 2018 to move on from his post with Benteler in order to fulfill a personal dream of starting his own business. Having worked in the human resources field for 6 years professionally, Tyler is very passionate about the staffing industry and sees a great need for disruption in the marketplace as many of the current service providers often fall short of both candidate and customer expectations. In the first few months of PlaceMeant LLC, Tyler has begun to set the groundwork for a niche recruiting firm that is hoping to make its mark by giving its candidates a personal focus and dedication to matching them to the best possible career growth opportunities. PlaceMeant’s promise of quality service to clients will be realized through the use of predictive hiring data and the innovative Retention Pricing Model, all offered through the lens of a former human resources manager and customer of the recruiting industry.
